Parkview CEO is IPFW Professor for a Day

(Fort Wayne, February 8, 2010) -- Indiana University–Purdue University Fort Wayne’s (IPFW’s) Richard T. Doermer School of Business and Management Sciences (DSBMS) will host Michael J. Packnett, president and CEO of Parkview Health Systems, as Professor for a Day, Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2010.

Packnett will be introduced to the DSBMS faculty and staff at a luncheon at 11:45 a.m. in Science Building, Room 176. Following lunch, he will discuss leadership and change in two afternoon classes, meet with Otto Chang, dean of DSBMS, and lead an evening class.

The Professor for a Day program is designed to introduce faculty and students to contemporary business issues faced by northeast Indiana business firms. Professors for a Day are invited to speak to upper level undergraduate and MBA students in policy and strategy courses. That person opens the session with a topic that is contemporary and relevant to his or her organization, explains the situation and its impact on the organization's business model, shares the company's approach to resolution, and invites student input and questions.

The media is invited to cover any of the classroom sessions that Packnett will be teaching. For more information about Packnett’s visit to IPFW or the Professor for a Day program, contact Lyman Lewis, assistant to the dean for external relations, 260-481-6474 or lymanl@ipfw.edu.
